International Conference: “Population and Social Policy in a Disrupted World”

This conference aims to discuss the nexus of population and social policy in the current situation, where the world is shifting owing to the development of information technology and globalised governance. The conference terms this a ‘disrupted world’, where public services and economic activities have shifted and service providers and economic actors have tended to use digital devices rather than employ conventional non-digital ones. This has not only influenced the private domain, but also the public sphere, including social youth and health policies, international labour migration, and social protection. This ‘disrupted world’ provides challenges and opportunities for using big data.
