RCSD Post Fieldwork Seminar: “The Roles of Migrants and Social Remittance in Traditional Festivals’ Practices in Za Yet Pyin Village, Rakhine State, Myanmar”

About the topic:

This presentation aims to highlight migration phenomenon in perspective of study in traditional festivals as well as migration effect on traditional practices of the sending community. Moreover, it is going to spotlight what is happening in traditional festivals after happening massive flow of young migration. Throughout this presentation, the speaker will talk and share her research experience base on the data conducted from the remote research site- “Za Yet Pyin village”, the Rakhine village located in Ramree Island, Rakhine State, Myanmar. Furthermore, the important strateg, “how to apply methodology” will be stressed in her presentation to get data what she need and wants to approve the study’s hypothesis.
 
About the Speaker:

Ms. San Yin Yin Tun is M.A. student who is currently taking only thesis course of Second Year of RCSD program. Since 2015, she had started area of study on Development Studies facilitated by the Regional Center for Social Sciences and Sustainable Development (RCSD) in the Faculty of Social Science, Chiang Mai University. She got partial grants from the ASEAN Community and Euro-Burma Office (EBO).
