Exploring Southeast Asia cultural diversity through textiles

Brief Description

Two classes on DIY (Do It Yourself) drink coasters made of Southeast Asia textiles were held at SEA Junction on 10 and 17 August by Christine Chin. The participants learned how to weave together fabric and batik clothes from different countries into a larger design and produce their own set of coasters.

Christine Chin is originally from Kajang, Malaysia and loves creating hand made products. During her time in Bangkok, she contributed as volunteer to the establishment of SEA Junction, classifying books, raising funds, and helping with activities. The classes were held before she moved to Japan at the end of August.
