SEA Junction will screen “Pulau Buru: Tanah Air Beta/Pulu Island My Homeland “, a documentary by director Rahung Nasution.

Taking a human angle, this documentary tells the story of the return to Buru island of writer and former political prisoner Hersri Setiawan accompanied by his daughter and his friend and also former prisoner Tedjabayu. On the island, Ken learns about her father’s past and emphasizes with his suffering from abuses (adapted from Jakarta Post).

The documentary, in Indonesian with English subtitles will be shown twice on 3 and 4 September 2016 at 3.30-5.30PM. After the screening, Director Rahung Nasution and Producer Whishnu Yonar will discuss with the audience about the film and the reasons behind.

On a separate event on 4 September at 10.30 until lunch, the documentary director, Rahung Nasution, who is also a chef will show his culinary skills, introducing the variety of Indonesia sambel and how to make it.
