SUMMARY:2017 Civil Society Leadership Award Program
DESCRIPTION:The Civil Society Leadership Awards (CSLA) provide fully funded master’s degree study to individuals who clearly demonstrate academic and professional excellence and a deep commitment to leading positive social change in their communities.\nCSLA directly assists future leaders in countries where civil society is challenged by a deficit of democratic practice in local governance and social development. \nAwards are available for master’s degree study in the following fields at host universities across the world: \n\ncommunications and media\nculture\, history\, and society\ndevelopment studies\neconomics\neducation management and leadership\nenvironment and natural resource management\nhuman rights and/or gender studies\nlaw (including human rights law)\npolitics and international studies\npublic health policy and health management\npublic policy and administration\nsocial work and social policy\n\nPlease see the complete guidelines for a full list of partnering host universities eligible for CSLA awards. \nEligibility\nCivil Society Leadership Awards are available to citizens of the following countries: \n\nAzerbaijan\nBelarus\nCambodia\nDemocratic Republic of Congo\nEgypt\nEquatorial Guinea\nEritrea\nEthiopia\nLaos\nLibya\nMyanmar/Burma\nRepublic of Congo\nSouth Sudan\nSudan\nSyria\nTurkmenistan\nUzbekistan\n\nApplicants must meet the following criteria: \n\nbe a citizen of an eligible country;\ndemonstrate maturity\, flexibility and civil society leadership potential;\nhave excellent academic records and a bachelor’s degree awarded before the application deadline;\ndemonstrate professional experience in a relevant area;\ndemonstrate proficiency in the language of instruction (English\, German or French) at a level required for admission by partner universities;\nbe able to participate in an intensive academic writing program in July or August 2017 and start their degree program in August or September 2017;\nbe able to receive and maintain a visa or study permit as required by the host country; and\ndemonstrate a clear commitment to return to their home country or region to continue supporting open society development.\n\nThe CSLA program does not discriminate on the basis of age\, race\, color\, sex\, religion\, sexual orientation\, or disability. \nSource: https://www.opensocietyfoundations.org/grants/civil-society-leadership-award-20160708 \nShare on FacebookTweetFollow usSave
