SUMMARY:2022 Summer School on Researching Land Governance and Land Relations in the Mekong Region
DESCRIPTION:Since 2016\, The Regional Center for Social Science and Sustainable Development (RCSD) and the Mekong Land Research Forum (MLRF) have run annual summer schools on land relations and land governance\, involving participants from all six Mekong countries. The purpose of the summer school is to equip participants with a research orientation targeted at a deeper understanding of land relations and land governance in the Mekong Region\, including the sharing of experience and perspectives among participants from different countries and different sectors around the region. \nThe summer schools involve participants from all six Mekong countries. Normally they are held in Chiang Mai\, Thailand. In 2021\, the summer school was held online due to restrictions resulting from the COVID-19 pandemic. Based on the success of this program and ongoing border uncertainties\, the 2022 summer school will also be run in interactive online format over a period of two weeks 6-17 June 2022. \nThe summer school will cover key concepts\, themes and governance interventions. It will provide access to existing research outputs and bring together knowledge of current land issues at local\, country and regional levels.
