SUMMARY:8th Southeast Asia Update with focus on Regionalism\, Climate Change\, and Religious Renewal
DESCRIPTION:\n\n\nThe Institute of Cultural Anthropology and Development Sociology (CADS) of Leiden University organizes this year’s annual Southeast Asia Update in cooperation with the Royal Netherlands Institute of Southeast Asian and Caribbean Studies (KITLV) and the International Institute for Asian Studies (IIAS). \nThe Southeast Asia Update offers scholars and those interested in the region a platform to meet colleagues and to discuss current issues and new trends. The Update offers especially a platform for young researchers in the Netherlands and neighboring countries to present their work to larger audience. \nWe invite young scholars to present their research. To allow for a diverse and interesting program\, the maximum time allocated to each presentation is 15 minutes (including 5 mins of discussion). Presentations should be state of the art\, short and informative\, while the use of visual imagery is strongly endorsed. Our explicit aim is to include young researchers and PhD candidates in the program. Students with an interest in Southeast Asia are also encouraged to attend. \nThis year we will also organize three round tables on three themes that in their urgency have a serious impact on the region: \n\nASEAN Regionalism and Integration\nClimate Change and Environmental Prospects for Future SEA\nPluralism\, Violence and Religious Renewal\n\nIf you want to give a presentation\, please contact Bart Barendregt at: ln.vinunediel.wsf@tgerdneraB\nIf you want to attend the Update\, please contact Yayah Siegers for registration: ln.vltik@vltik\nAnyone interested to present a poster on his/her research project\, or aiming to introduce a newly published book should contact Bart Barendregt at: ln.vinunediel.wsf@tgerdneraB. \nDon’t miss this unique opportunity to get a quick update on new research on Southeast Asia and to meet new colleagues and old friends! \nSource : http://iias.asia/event/8th-southeast-asia-update-focus-regionalism-climate-change-religious-renewal \n\n\n\nShare on FacebookTweetFollow usSave
