These scholarships support U.S. undergraduate and graduate language study and research abroad in world regions critical to U.S. national interests. Boren Awards will give preference to applicants planning to study in a number of Southeast Asian countries\, including Cambodia\, Indonesia\, Malaysia\, the Philippines\, Thailand\, and Vietnam. The Boren Scholarships provide up to $20\,000 for undergraduate students for language-focused study abroad and up to $24\,000 for graduate study abroad.
