SUMMARY:Gothe-Institut dance programme for South and Southeast Asian artists
DESCRIPTION:Goethe-Institut/Max Mueller Bhavan is calling for applications from dance artists from or based in South and Southeast Asia to participate in a residency in Ahmedabad\, India\, 10–30 April 2023.  \nIn an attempt to widen its reach to explore possibilities of intercultural exchange and comparative understanding of experiences across the south globe\, Invisible Dance: The Body in Friction invites applications from the broader locations of South Asia and Southeast Asia through an open call process. \nThe selected residents will be required to attend a 3-week residency comprising an intensive programme of workshops\, dialogue and exchange. The residency may culminate in a series of individual and collaborative performances at the Conflictorium. \nWho can apply?   \n\nArtists who are interested in socio-political engagement through dance\, choreography and/or movement research\nChoreographers and interdisciplinary performance artists with an experience of working with movement for at least three years\nCitizens or residents of Bangladesh\, Cambodia\, India\, Indonesia\, Lao PDR\, Nepal\, the Philippines\, Sri Lanka\, Thailand\, and Vietnam\nArtists from communities that are historically and structurally marginalised on account of their social and geographical location (those working in peripheral locations\, satellite cities\, rural and coastal areas will be given priority)\nThose with a basic comfort in spoken English \nThe applicants must hold the required documents for international travel (passport\, Covid vaccine certificates\, etc.)\n\nWhat is provided?  \n\nFlight tickets\, visa costs\, food allowance and lodging\nRemuneration of 450 EUR\nArtistic research support \nComparative and intercultural artistic exchange\nOpportunity for local\, national\, and international networking\nWork-in-progress presentations\nPublication of the documentation of the process and presentations\n\nDetailed information to apply for the programme can be read here. \nShare on FacebookTweetFollow usSave
