SUMMARY:NGO Fellowship Program in Taiwan
DESCRIPTION:Application Deadline: July 31\, 2023 \nFellowship Schedule: October1-29\, 2023 \nAbout the Fellowship \nThe NGO Fellowship Program provides opportunities for NGO professionals from South Asia and Southeast Asia to gain first-hand experience in the Taiwanese NGO sector. The one-month-long fellowship contains an NGO placement\, workshop\, and roundtable event with their Taiwanese counterparts.  \nKey Program Features \nNGO Placement: \nFellows will be placed in Taiwan’s NGO according to their professional backgrounds. Fellows will work with the Taiwanese NGO and engage in daily operations for three weeks. Depending on the nature of the NGOs\, fellows will engage in event preparation\, project management\, or fundraising activities.  \nCapacity building: \nFellows will attend a four-day workshop at the start of the program. The workshop aims at project management\, fundraising\, and advocacy. Fellows will also visit civil society sites related to Taiwan civil society. \nRoundtable event: \nFellows will join a roundtable event on the sixth day of the program. The fellows and Taiwanese NGO professionals will together share their practical experience and up-to-date observation in the field.   \nFuture project collaboration \nFellows will be expected to propose a project draft at the end of the program for future cooperation in their home countries. The program will provide opportunities for fellows and host NGOs to explore the possibility of future cooperation. \nEligibility \n\nAge: NGO professionals from 25 to 40 years old. An outstanding applicant whose age is not between 25 to 40 will be considered. \nNumber of Fellows : 10\nProfessions:\n\nCommunity development\, environment\, education\, gender\, human rights\, media and information technology\, LGBTQ\, medical service\, and social welfare. Outstanding applicants from other fields will also be considered. \n\nCountries\nSoutheast Asia: Brunei\, Cambodia\, Laos\, Indonesia\, Malaysia\, Myanmar\, the Philippines\, Singapore\, Thailand\, and Vietnam\nSouth Asia: Bhutan\, Bangladesh\, India\, Nepal\, Sri Lanka\, and Pakistan\nLanguage: Proficiency in written and oral English or Mandarin.\nAt least three years of work experience in the NGO sector\nDemonstrated professional excellence\, independent and self-motivated\, able to complete an independent fellowship\n\nSponsorship \nFellows’ expenses of flight\, lodging\, food\, and transportation will be covered.
