SUMMARY:Regional Workshop SEARN-SRHR (Closed Event)
DESCRIPTION:The Southeast Asia Researcher Network on Sexual and Reproductive Health and Rights (SEARN) is a one year initiative supported by HIVOS through the innovation grants of the Netherlands government. Piloted in Malaysia\, Indonesia\, Philippines and Timor Leste\, it aims to bring together sexual and reproductive health and rights (SRHR) researchers\, both qualitative and quantitative\, in the region and provide greater access to the crucial information they produce but may not be disseminated to a wider audience and end-users. \nResearch and data from various perspectives and approaches on SRHR (biomedical\, social\, law and policy\, etc.) exist. However\, they are not often referenced when policy documents are developed in the area of SRHR\, LBGT and HIV. By bringing researchers together and facilitating exchange and socialization of information\, SEARN aims to provide a formal venue for collective decision towards providing inputs to policy and program interventions\, both at the local and regional levels. \nThis is done through regional and local meetings and research fora. To further enhance SRHR data access and sharing\, the project maintains a web based e-library or knowledge hub where researchers from NGOs\, and academe can register upload and download SRHR researches from various fields. \nOn 3 October 2017 a full-day regional meeting will be held at SEA Junction. For this closed event about 20 researchers from Southeast Asia will gather to continue their sharing of research findings and devise strategies to disseminate them to the public and policy makers. \nFor more information on SEARN see http://searn-srhr.org. \n \nShare on FacebookTweetFollow usSave
