DESCRIPTION:Gender inequality remains a crucial challenge in society because this is one of the earliest ways in which people first learn about hierarchy and accept oppression as a way of life. This module will explore the structural issues underlying gender identity and related discrimination\, as well as gain an understanding of how transforming personal perspectives are closely related to structural change. This course will also provide an opportunity to consider how to bring gender and feminist concepts into our life experiences and contemporary social issues. While learning key concepts around gender and social justice\, practices of mindfulness and compassion will be integrated to build awareness\, help participants consider their and others’ behavior\, so they are able to authentically advance the change they want in society. \nThis workshop invites participants to use power\, gender and sexuality analysis to understand\, through life experiences\, how these affect our lives\, people around us and our society. SUMMARY:2019 Endeavour Leadership Program Round 1
DESCRIPTION:Description: \nThe Endeavour Leadership Program (ELP) is the Australian Government’s two way mobility program for short and long term study\, research and professional development with Australia’s priority partner countries. The ELP supports Australia’s first National Strategy for International Education 2025 (the Strategy). The Strategy sets out a 10 year plan for developing Australia as a global leader in education\, training and research\, through making transformative partnerships (Pillar 2 of the Strategy)\, and expanding student\, education and training professional and research mobility (Action 6.2 of the Strategy). \nThe Australian Government has announced a total of $118.9 million over four years for the ELP. Under the 2019 round\, approximately $20 million in funding is available to support two-way mobility Leadership Activities. It will support short and long term study\, training\, research and professional development across a range of sub categories under the Endeavour Leadership Program\, including: \n\nAustralia ASEAN Leadership category\nAustralia APEC Leadership category\nAustralia Latin America Leadership category\nAsia Pacific Leadership category\nGlobal Leadership category\n\nThere are two funding opportunities with differing financial benefits – one for Recipient Institutions\, for distribution to their enrolled students; and one for Individual Endeavour Leaders. The number of opportunities in 2019 will depend on the amount of available funds as well as the number of highly suitable applications received. \nEligibility: \nTo be eligible for funding\, you must apply as an Individual Endeavour Leader or Applicant Institution\, submit your application by the closing date\, answer all mandatory questions and attach all documents as specified in the application form. DESCRIPTION:Leading from the South is a programme resourced by the Dutch Ministry of Foreign Affairs. It supports activism devised\, implemented\, and led by women’s rights organisations in the Global South. The fund is being implemented by four women’s funds in the Global South\, of which Women’s Fund Asia is the implementing fund in the Asia region. \nWomen’s rights organisations in 18 countries (Afghanistan\, Bangladesh\, Bhutan\, Cambodia\, India\, Indonesia\, Laos\, Malaysia\, Maldives\, Mongolia\, Myanmar\, Nepal\, Pakistan\, Philippines\, Sri Lanka\, Thailand\, Timor-Leste\, and Vietnam) are eligible to apply for this programme under three grant categories.
