Fellowships are awarded on a competitive basis to qualified candidates under the auspices of the J. William Fulbright Foreign Scholarship Program\, subject to the availability of funding. \nDeadline: June 1\, 2017\nThe Fulbright Program was established in 1946 by the U.S. Congress as a means “to increase mutual understanding between the people of the United States and the people of other countries.” For more than sixty years the Fulbright Program has provided opportunities for foreign nationals to study\, teach\, and pursue research in the U.S.\nTo be eligible\, applicants must: \n\nHave a strong academic background and a record of excellence in previous studies;\nHave completed a Bachelor’s degree from a recognized college or university for those applying to study in the U.S. for a Master’s degree program\, or have a Master’s degree from a recognized college or university for those applying to study in the U.S. for a Doctoral program;\nBe proficient in English (a minimum score of 570 on TOEFL or TOEFL ITP\, or 230 on computer-based TOEFL\, or 88 on internet based TOEFL\, or 7.0 on IELTS);\nDemonstrate the ability to adapt readily to a foreign environment;\nBe in good health and able to undergo a rigorous study program; and\nNot have extensive experience living or studying in the United States.\n\nFulbright Student Fellowship grants provide round-trip transportation to the United States\, as well as tuition fees\, and living expenses for full-time graduate study. DESCRIPTION:The call for proposals will be open from 2 May to 17 July 2019. \nThe essential content for the IUCN World Conservation Congress is provided by quality proposals\, submitted on a competitive basis. \nIf your proposal is selected\, in your session\, you will have an opportunity to engage a targeted and influential audience of leaders and decision makers from government\, civil society\, business\, and academia as well as conservation and sustainable development professionals from around the world. Hosting a session is not only an opportunity to showcase your organisation and its activities\, but also a chance for you to receive feedback from key stakeholders\, generate new partnerships and inform action on a global scale. \nThere are a number of different types of sessions you can consider hosting\, from formal thematic stream sessions\, focussed on developing ideas from the thematic plenaries\, to  training and capacity building sessions\, “a Campus”\, or a “Speaker Pitch” during which you can showcase your conservation work and your organisation’s achievements\, to a broad audience. \nThe session types listed below are open for proposals. Descriptions of each session type can be found on the dedicated page. \n\nThematic Stream Sessions\nSpeaker Pitches\nCampus Sessions\n\nTo be selected for inclusion in the final Congress programme\, event proposals must meet a series of criteria. \nFor example\, in addition to the overall merit of the proposal\, session proposals will be evaluated based on their alignment with the draft IUCN Programme 2021-2024\, their gender responsiveness\, their degree of youth engagement\, their intended engagement with the audience\, and other factors.Please refer to the Outline of the Call for Proposals for the full list of criteria\, and detailed guidelines on how to submit a successful proposal.  \nRemember that successful events are those that involve participants\, and provide ample space for discussion and the exchange of ideas. DESCRIPTION:Registration: 7 June 2019 \nCourse Description: \nThe SDGs course equips participants with a sound understanding of the concept of sustainable development as well as the vision and principles of the 2030 Agenda. It explores the three pillars of sustainable development while taking a look at the inter-linkages between climate change\, planetary boundaries\, social inclusion and human rights. SUMMARY:International Training of Trainers on Results Based Management Monitoring and Evaluation
DESCRIPTION:Course Description: \nResult Based Management Monitoring and Evaluation is a management strategy by which all actors ensure that their processes\, products and services contribute to the achievement of desired results (outputs\, outcomes and higher level goals or impact). The actors in turn use information and evidence on actual results to inform decision making on the design\, resourcing and delivery of programmes and activities as well as for accountability and reporting. \nDuring the last decade\, result based management (RBM) has gained much influence in international cooperation. Differentiating between Project Cycle Management (PCM) and Results Based Management (RBM) is quite important because of the current uptake of the last. It is very interesting to realize that although RBM is in full congruence with the PCM (and LFA) concepts\, tools and techniques\, it is even more emphasizing on the quality and accountability aspect of service delivery. \nRBM particularly focuses on reporting and corrective action established by assessing Actual Results versus Planned Results. A regular and institutionalized Monitoring and Evaluation system will need to gather information about achievement of Results at any level in the Logical Framework Matrix (Outputs\, Outcome\, Purpose & Overall Objectives). \nRBM has consequences for the entire organisation: for project planning\, monitoring\, evaluation and learning. Learning how to design a solid RBM framework – in various forms – is a good first step to integrate RBM in your organisation. \nCourse Objectives: \nThe goal of the Training of Trainers (TOT) on Result Based Management\, Monitoring and Evaluation (RBM-M&E) is to give the trainers the background knowledge\, skills and practical experience in order to make them capable of delivering the knowledge and technical assistance to the communities and their partners/organizational staff.
