DESCRIPTION:The International Organization for Migration (IOM) and the Rohingya Culture and Memory Centre (RCMC) in partnership with SEA Junction are pleased to present\, as part of the RCMC World Tour\, the exhibition “Arar Rosom\, Arar Elom: World Tour of Rohingya Cultural Memory Centre” on 17-25 February from 11 am to 7 pm. The exhibition aims to raise awareness and advocate for the Rohingya cause emphasizing their unique cultural heritage and their resilience in the face of continued displacement.  \nA curated collection of Rohingya artwork\, crafts\, and cultural artifacts will be displayed at the SEA Junction venue\, 4th floor Bangkok Arts and Culture Center (BACC) to provide a tangible and emotional connection to the story of the Rohingya. It will also facilitate the dialogue to the heart of the refugee problem. \nThe Opening Ceremony will be on 20 February at 5.30 PM and consists of two parts. First\, a Panel Discussion will be held in the Meeting Room 401\, 4th floor of BACC\, on the complexities of the Rohingya crisis\, featuring experts\, activists\, and community representatives (live-stream will also be available) and second\, the tour of the exhibition at the SEA Junction venue on the same floor. \nArar Rosom\, Arar Elom is not just an exhibition; it is a collective effort to amplify the voices of a marginalized community and to provide an opportunity to bridge gaps\, advocate for change\, and create a lasting impact. This sub-theme will address contemporary challenges and opportunities in the study of the Philippines within Southeast Asia. Focus on issues such as globalization\, cultural preservation\, heritage management\, social change\, and the future trajectories of Philippine-Southeast Asian relations. \nArt\, Literature\, and Performance. This sub-theme will examine the artistic expressions\, literary traditions\, and performing arts of the Philippines in Southeast Asian cultural production. Underscore visual arts\, literature\, theater\, music\, dance\, and how artistic practices reflect regional influences. \nSurvey on Oral Traditions and Linguistic Diversity. This sub-theme will explore the linguistic diversity of the Philippines and its connections to Southeast Asian languages. Discussion on language families\, language contact\, oral traditions\, folklore\, and the role of language in cultural identity. \nCultural Exchanges and Tourism. This sub-theme will delve into the cultural exchanges\, travel\, tourism\, movements and shared traditions between the Philippines and other Southeast Asian nations. Concentration on the Travel and Tourism sector’s significant contribution to global cultural\, economic\, and  social development with emphasis on the tangible and intangible cultural heritage the Philippine shares with its Southeast Asian neighbors. \nHistorical Narratives of the Philippines in Southeast Asia. This sub-theme will explore the Philippines’ place within Southeast Asian History. Retrospection on the pre-colonial era\, maritime trade networks\, regional empires\, colonial influences\, and the Philippines’ interactions with other Southeast Asian states. \nReligious Dynamics in Southeast Asia. This sub-theme will focus on the religious landscape of the Philippines and its ramifications within the broader Southeast Asian context.
