DESCRIPTION:Master of Arts in International Development Studies (MAIDS)\, Faculty of Political Science\, Chulalongkorn University\, Bangkok\, Thailand now opens application for any applicants from around the world who wish to pursue a master’s degree in the development field.\n \nMAIDS is a one-year international program taught in English language. We offer a variety of courses including migration\, human rights\, sustainable development\, community-based development\, inclusive development\, public policy\, gender\, water governance\, and conflict resolution\, amongst others.\n \nThe course build academic knowledge and analytical skills. DESCRIPTION:AEI-ASEM SUMMER SCHOOL will offer up to 7 grants to Southeast Asian and European students accepted for the 3-week AEI-ASEM Summer School to be held in Kuala Lumpur and Brussels. The grant will cover the USD1000 fees for the Summer School and include a travel subsidy of 300€ to help cover the cost of travel.\n \nStudents interested in applying for the grant should submit their registration for the Summer School before 24 April 2017. This should be accompanied by a brief personal motivation statement of 500 – 600 words on their interest in the theme of the Summer School “Cultural Pluralism in Asia and Europe”.\n \nThe award for the grant will be made by a Select Committee comprising faculty staff from the Partner Universities in the JMN\, and decision made will be final.\n \nSource: http://aei-asc.edu.my/index.php \n

SUMMARY:Workshop on 'Ecological Spirituality in Cambodia: Exploring Environmental Justice and Sustainable Citizenship'
DESCRIPTION:The Workshop on ‘Ecological Spirituality in Cambodia: Exploring Environmental Justice and Sustainable Citizenship’ will bring together environmental activists\, religious figures and academics from across Cambodia and the region\, in order to foster dialogue among local practitioners and scholars on the challenges of environmental justice and sustainable development in Cambodia today.\n \nWith the drive to modernize leading to the depletion of Cambodia’s  natural resources and threats to traditional ways of living\, new understandings of rights–based citizenship and environmental responsibility are giving rise to rediscovered forms of local activism and resistance. From the forests of Prey Lang to the valleys of Areng\, a diverse cast of environmental defenders have come into being\, with the aim of protecting these fragile ecological systems and promoting the sustainable use of their resources. Accompanying efforts to redefine and assert their rights\, these defenders are initiating a resurgence in ecological spirituality.
