DESCRIPTION:ASEASUK is offering bursaries to members to support research and impact activities in Southeast Asian Studies. The awards are available for travel and related expenses for activities taking place between 1 July 2017 to 31 July 2018.\nPermissible activities include: \n\nfieldwork in SE Asia or key sites in the diaspora;\nresearch visits to important regional archives\, museums\, collections\, exhibitions or performances (concerning but not necessarily located in SE Asia);\na visit for collaborative writing or artistic practice with an academic or practitioner colleague from another institution in SE Asia;\ndelivery of a paper at a regional academic conference;\ndelivery of a paper to an academic or practitioner audience based on research previously conducted on/in the region.\n\nAwards available: \n\nThree Postgraduate Bursaries (PhD\, MPhil or MRes students)\, up to £1000 each\nOne Early Career Award\, up to £1500\nOne Senior Award\, up to £2500\n\nApplication deadline: 30 April 2017. DESCRIPTION:The Thailand-U.S. Educational Foundation (Fulbright Thailand)\, in cooperation with the Thailand Research Fund (TRF)\, is pleased to announce the “Fulbright-Thailand Research Fund Junior Research Scholarship Program\,” which is aimed to develop the capabilities of Thai university staff members and interested persons to gain six months of research experience in the United States as part of their doctoral dissertation requirements. \nFive (5) grants are available for the 2018 academic year. \nUp to two (2) will be awarded under the Fulbright Program and up to three (3) will be under the Fulbright-TRF partnership. \nFor the grant sponsored by Fulbright Thailand\, benefits are intended to cover round-trip international airfare\, a monthly stipend for six months\, in-transit allowance and health insurance.  For the Fulbright-TRF partnership\, funding support will be mainly sponsored by the Thailand Research Fund (TRF) with additional fund from Fulbright Thailand for not exceeding a period of six months. \nFulbright Thailand will assist the grantees in the visa process\, coordinate with the host U.S. institutions\, and offer non-monetary benefits i.e. orientations\, enrichment seminars\, international conferences\, etc.\, which will help grantees to get access to their chosen host universities and create quality international networks.  \nSource: http://application.fulbrightthai.org/?mod=welcome&op=program_register&id=12 \n

DESCRIPTION:The Thailand‑United States Educational Foundation (Fulbright Thailand) announces its annual competition for Fulbright awards under the Thai Visiting Scholar Program (TVS) which offers grants to senior Thai scholars to lecture\, pursue research or undertake special academic-related projects in the United States. \nThai scholars are invited to submit proposals in various areas of expertise (sciences & technology and social and human sciences) for a grant to conduct research\, lecture\, or engage in special academic-related projects in the United States. For research projects\, preference will be given to topics\, which focus upon the Thailand‑U.S. relationship in\, for example\, political\, economic\, trade\, legal\, cultural\, or educational affairs. Lecturing projects should deal with topics relating to aspects of Thai society and economics\, modern arts\, Thai‑U.S. relations\, or Thailand’s role in regional affairs.  \nSelection will be based on professional qualifications of applicants\, and on the quality and significance of their project proposals. Applicants are expected to explore in advance the most appropriate location for their research or lecturing projects and should be able to indicate that the proposed host institutions ‑ universities\, archives\, institutes\, etc. – are prepared to receive the scholars. Project proposals will be considered under a condition that the applicant submits an invitation from a U.S. institution along with his/her application. \nUp to three (3) awards will be offered during the 2018 academic year for a period of 3‑6 months.   \nFunding for this program is through the Thailand‑United States Educational Foundation under the Fulbright Program; and includes round-trip international travel\, monthly stipend\, professional allowance\, settling-in allowance\, health insurance and excess baggage reimbursement. DESCRIPTION:Fulbright Thailand (Thailand‑United States Educational Foundation) is pleased to announce the 2018 Fulbright U.S-ASEAN Visiting Scholar Initiative. The program is open to university\, faculty\, foreign ministry or other government officials\, and professional staff of the private sector\, think tanks\, and other NGOs in the ASEAN Member States to travel to the United States for scholarly and professional research for 3-4 months on priority issues to the U.S.-ASEAN relationship and ASEAN.  It is anticipated that one qualified applicant from Thailand will be selected\, representing one of the 10 ASEAN Member States\, by a U.S. – ASEAN selection committee.   \nThe objective of the Fulbright U.S.-ASEAN Visiting Scholar Initiative is to deepen people-to-people engagement and strengthen our educational ties.  This marks the fifth year of the Initiative.  To date\, 40 scholars from all 10 ASEAN Member States have been awarded scholarships to pursue studies focused on a wide range of subjects including teaching English as a second language\, maritime security\, climate change\, health\, political security\, and wildlife trafficking. The chosen topics should also be of interest and relevance to Thailand and the ASEAN community. \nUp to 2 successful candidates from Thailand will be nominated for the 2018 U.S.-ASEAN Visiting Scholar Award.
