DESCRIPTION:The Public Affairs Section of the U.S. Embassy is pleased to announce the opportunity to compete for 2018-2019 Fulbright Student Fellowships for graduate study in the United States leading to a Master’s or Doctoral degree. Fellowships are awarded on a competitive basis to qualified candidates under the auspices of the J. William Fulbright Foreign Scholarship Program\, subject to the availability of funding. \nDeadline: June 1\, 2017\nThe Fulbright Program was established in 1946 by the U.S. Congress as a means “to increase mutual understanding between the people of the United States and the people of other countries.” For more than sixty years the Fulbright Program has provided opportunities for foreign nationals to study\, teach\, and pursue research in the U.S.\nTo be eligible\, applicants must: \n\nHave a strong academic background and a record of excellence in previous studies;\nHave completed a Bachelor’s degree from a recognized college or university for those applying to study in the U.S. for a Master’s degree program\, or have a Master’s degree from a recognized college or university for those applying to study in the U.S. for a Doctoral program;\nBe proficient in English (a minimum score of 570 on TOEFL or TOEFL ITP\, or 230 on computer-based TOEFL\, or 88 on internet based TOEFL\, or 7.0 on IELTS);\nDemonstrate the ability to adapt readily to a foreign environment;\nBe in good health and able to undergo a rigorous study program; and\nNot have extensive experience living or studying in the United States.\n\nFulbright Student Fellowship grants provide round-trip transportation to the United States\, as well as tuition fees\, and living expenses for full-time graduate study. SUMMARY:2019 Endeavour Leadership Program Round 1
DESCRIPTION:Description: \nThe Endeavour Leadership Program (ELP) is the Australian Government’s two way mobility program for short and long term study\, research and professional development with Australia’s priority partner countries. The ELP supports Australia’s first National Strategy for International Education 2025 (the Strategy). The Strategy sets out a 10 year plan for developing Australia as a global leader in education\, training and research\, through making transformative partnerships (Pillar 2 of the Strategy)\, and expanding student\, education and training professional and research mobility (Action 6.2 of the Strategy). \nThe Australian Government has announced a total of $118.9 million over four years for the ELP. Under the 2019 round\, approximately $20 million in funding is available to support two-way mobility Leadership Activities. It will support short and long term study\, training\, research and professional development across a range of sub categories under the Endeavour Leadership Program\, including: \n\nAustralia ASEAN Leadership category\nAustralia APEC Leadership category\nAustralia Latin America Leadership category\nAsia Pacific Leadership category\nGlobal Leadership category\n\nThere are two funding opportunities with differing financial benefits – one for Recipient Institutions\, for distribution to their enrolled students; and one for Individual Endeavour Leaders. The number of opportunities in 2019 will depend on the amount of available funds as well as the number of highly suitable applications received. \nEligibility: \nTo be eligible for funding\, you must apply as an Individual Endeavour Leader or Applicant Institution\, submit your application by the closing date\, answer all mandatory questions and attach all documents as specified in the application form. Please refer to the Endeavour Leadership Program Guidelines\, Section 4\, for further information on eligibility criteria. Additional detail on application processes is available in the Applicant Guide for the ELP – Individual Endeavour Leaders and the Applicant Guide for the ELP – Applicant Institutions. \nGrant Activity Timeframe: \nIndividual Endeavour Leaders must commence their Proposed Leadership Activity after 1 February 2019 and no later than 31 December 2019\, noting that the announcement of successful and unsuccessful recipients is scheduled for February 2019. The Applicant Guide for the ELP – Individual Endeavour Leaders will outline the maximum duration for study\, research and professional development activities. SUMMARY:Leading From The South
DESCRIPTION:Leading from the South is a programme resourced by the Dutch Ministry of Foreign Affairs. It supports activism devised\, implemented\, and led by women’s rights organisations in the Global South. The fund is being implemented by four women’s funds in the Global South\, of which Women’s Fund Asia is the implementing fund in the Asia region. \nWomen’s rights organisations in 18 countries (Afghanistan\, Bangladesh\, Bhutan\, Cambodia\, India\, Indonesia\, Laos\, Malaysia\, Maldives\, Mongolia\, Myanmar\, Nepal\, Pakistan\, Philippines\, Sri Lanka\, Thailand\, Timor-Leste\, and Vietnam) are eligible to apply for this programme under three grant categories. The categories are based on organisations’ size and scope of work. \n\nFrontline Defenders grants (small-size grants) are directed to organisations working at the community and sub-national levels as the front line of defence against rights violations\, and mobilisers of women’s and trans* people’s movements.\nAmplifying Voices grants (medium-sized grants) are directed to national and sub-regional organisations and networks working on policy advocacy with key stakeholders and states\, as well as campaigns on women’s and trans* people’s human rights.\nPromoting Regional Feminist Agenda Grants (large-size grants) are directed to cross national\, sub-regional\, and regional groups and networks undertaking capacity\, knowledge\, and leadership building and advocacy for state accountability to advance women’s and trans* rights.\n\nWFA has opened its 2018 Call for Proposals from 1 October through 15 November 2018.
