DESCRIPTION:The Public Affairs Section of the U.S. Embassy is pleased to announce the opportunity to compete for 2018-2019 Fulbright Student Fellowships for graduate study in the United States leading to a Master’s or Doctoral degree. Fellowships are awarded on a competitive basis to qualified candidates under the auspices of the J. William Fulbright Foreign Scholarship Program\, subject to the availability of funding. \nDeadline: June 1\, 2017\nThe Fulbright Program was established in 1946 by the U.S. Congress as a means “to increase mutual understanding between the people of the United States and the people of other countries.” For more than sixty years the Fulbright Program has provided opportunities for foreign nationals to study\, teach\, and pursue research in the U.S.\nTo be eligible\, applicants must: \n\nHave a strong academic background and a record of excellence in previous studies;\nHave completed a Bachelor’s degree from a recognized college or university for those applying to study in the U.S. for a Master’s degree program\, or have a Master’s degree from a recognized college or university for those applying to study in the U.S. for a Doctoral program;\nBe proficient in English (a minimum score of 570 on TOEFL or TOEFL ITP\, or 230 on computer-based TOEFL\, or 88 on internet based TOEFL\, or 7.0 on IELTS);\nDemonstrate the ability to adapt readily to a foreign environment;\nBe in good health and able to undergo a rigorous study program; and\nNot have extensive experience living or studying in the United States.\n\nFulbright Student Fellowship grants provide round-trip transportation to the United States\, as well as tuition fees\, and living expenses for full-time graduate study. DESCRIPTION:THIS IS IT! The call for applications for 2019/20 eMpowering Youths Across ASEAN Programme (EYAAP) is finally opened! This year’s programme offers a new format where we will not only invite talented youth across the region but also registered civil society organisations (CSOs) and social enterprises (SEs) in Cambodia\, Indonesia\, Malaysia and the Philippines to submit their applications!!. \nThe selected 100 youths as well as shortlisted CSOs and SEs will converge in Bangkok\, Thailand around March 2020 to take part in the Regional Workshop of EYAAP\, where participants will go through a comprehensive capacity building workshop and work together to figure out the best way to utilise a total funding of USD 200 K (up to USD 20 K per project) to give birth to community projects that can make lasting\, positive impact to the surrounding communities. \nFor quick insight about the new programme format involving “Youth” and “CSOs and SEs” participants\, feel free to check the other two social media posts that are currently being published. DESCRIPTION:The East-West Center Graduate Degree Fellowship provides master’s and doctoral funding for graduate students from Asia\, the Pacific\, and the United States to participate in educational\, cultural\, residential community building\, and leadership development programs at the East-West Center while pursuing graduate study at the University of Hawai‘i at Mānoa (UHM). \nThe graduate degree fellowship covers the cost of tuition and fees\, books\, housing in an East-West Center dormitory\, and partial funding toward meals\, health insurance\, and incidental expenses.
