SUMMARY:International Grant Program: Cultivating Empathy Through Learning from Our Neighbors: Practitioners' Exchange on Common Issues in Asia
DESCRIPTION:Program Objectives \nThe grant program focuses on deepening mutual understanding and knowledge-sharing among people on the ground in East and Southeast Asia who are finding solutions to shared issues. Through promoting direct interaction among key players\, the grant program aims to survey and analyze situations in target countries\, obtain new perspectives\, and expand the potential of future generations. \nWith multinational teams comprised of participants from diverse backgrounds\, projects can avoid conventional linear relationships\, such as “supporter and supported” or “instructor and trainee\,” and instead form cooperative and creative alliances that consider\, act on\, and construct solutions to shared issues. The grant program anticipates that these partnerships\, which extend beyond such factors as nationality\, age\, and organizational affiliation\, will produce significant social change through fostering a process of mutual learning. \nGrant Framework \nPlease read through the Guidelines for details. \n\n\n\nTarget \nCountries\nEast and Southeast Asia *1\n\n\nRequired \nelements for \nProject\nTransnational\, Cross Sector\, Mutual Learning\, Foresight\n\n\nProject Period\nTwo-Year Grant (Nov 2021 – Oct 2023)\nOne-Year Grant (Nov 2021 – Oct 2022)\n\n\nExpected\nOutput\nProjects are required to;\n1) identify issues and conduct a review by surveying and analyzing the situation in target countries;\n2) carry out activities aimed at providing solutions to issues;\n3) produce and disseminate tangible output\n\n\nPotential\nApplicants\nDiverse team based in multiple target countries. SUMMARY:A Ticket for Emerging Scholars and Researchers in Southeast Asia!
DESCRIPTION:SHAPE-SEA\, in partnership with Southeast Asian Human Rights and Peace Studies Network (SEAHRN)\,  Faculty of Arts and Social Sciences\, University of Malaya (UM) under Research Group on Revising the Politics of Human Rights in Southeast Asia (GPF0035-2020)\, and the Faculty of Law\, Universitas Indonesia (UI)\, invites early level academics\, researchers and scholars to be part of this Training and Mentorship programme. \nThis aims to (1) help reinforce data gathering\, writing and analytical skills and (2) to strengthen research confidence\, as well as capacity to perform research on human rights and peace related issues in Southeast Asia. \nThis workshop shall be organized into two components: \n\nFirst component features five public seminars (27 May 2021 and 3 June 2021) covering the following topics:\n\nPeace Research\nSocio-Legal Analysis\nFeminist Analysis\nSocio-Political Analysis\nAcademic writing strategies\n\n\n\n\nSecond component is a mentoring program from 24 May 2021 to 8 June 2021.
