DESCRIPTION:The 32nd Singapore International Film Festival kicks off its Call For Entry! \nWith its dynamic programming\, SGIFF is an important voice for groundbreaking Asian Cinema in Singapore and the region. Seeking out all film lovers\, filmmakers\, production & distribution houses\, film and cultural institutions working on Asian and Southeast Asian cinema to participate in the festival. \nSubmit your applications for the following programmes now. If you have any enquiries\, please write in to programme@sgiff.com \nSoutheast Asian Producers Network \nOpen to producers from Southeast Asia\, The Southeast Asian Producer’s Network is a platform for the exchange of ideas and opportunities for collaboration. In an intimate closed-door setting\, invited Southeast Asian producers with projects in development will share the process of developing their works – the unknowns\, shortfalls\, and possibilities of stretching the potential of their work. \nPrevious years’ guests include speakers from SEAFIC\, Director\, Hong Kong-Asia Film Financing Forum\, Locarno Open Doors\, IMDA and Film Development Council of the Philippines. \nSoutheast Asian Film Lab \nThe Southeast Asian Film Lab provides a nurturing and collaborative space for Southeast Asian filmmakers who are embarking on their first feature- length film project. During the Film Lab\, filmmakers will receive personal feedback from three mentors\, and hear from fellow filmmakers as they share their experiences and insights. The programme will end with the filmmakers pitching to a panel of industry experts. Two filmmakers will be awarded Most Promising Project and Fellowship Prize at the Silver Screen Awards. \nProjects that have emerged from the Southeast Asian Film Lab have gone on to thrive in other prestigious workshops and markets such as Busan’s Asian Project Market\, Cannes’ L’Atelier\, Locarno’s Open Doors\, SEAFIC and TorinoFilmLab. \nYouth Jury & Critics Programme \nThe Youth Jury & Critics Programme aims to nurture new film critics who can contribute to Southeast Asian film culture and discourse. This programme provides the opportunity for mentorship in the art of film criticism\, while invited speakers also enrich the learning experience by sharing about different types of critics\, their role in film culture and what it is like to have a career as a film critic. \nIn the lead-up to and during the festival\, the young critics’ articles and video essays will be published on SGIFF’s Film Academy journal\, Stories. The mentor will award one of the young critics with the Young Critic Award for originality of writing and for contributing to cinematic discussions in the region. SUMMARY:EU4YOUTH PHOTO COMPETITION: Youth in the Times of Pandemic
DESCRIPTION:The Delegation of the European Union to ASEAN in partnership with PannaFoto Institute (PannaFoto) through Landell Mills is launching a photo competition entitled “EU4Youth Photo Competition”. \nThe photo competition is organised as part of the celebration of the International Day of Youth and the EU-ASEAN 44th year of partnership. This year’s photo competition will carry the theme\, ‘EU4Youth in the times of a pandemic’. The photo competition is purposefully designed to only carry a general theme of youth in times of a pandemic\, to provide youth with the freedom to capture the different ways the pandemic has disrupted their lives. The word ‘for’ is replaced by 4 (four) to symbolise the 44th year of EU-ASEAN relations in 2021. \nELIGIBILITY OF PARTICIPANTS \n\nThis Competition is open to ASEAN citizens and residents of any of the following ASEAN Member States: Brunei Darussalam\, Cambodia\, Indonesia\, Lao PDR\, Malaysia\, Myanmar\, The Philippines\, Singapore\, Thailand\, and Vietnam.\nAll participants must be between 18 and 30 years old as of 8 August 2021.\nParticipants are allowed to submit a maximum of 10 (ten) photos in one photo story. Submission must also include an introduction text (mandatory) and captions for each photo (if applicable).\nOnly entries from individuals will be accepted.
