SUMMARY:OPEN CALL – WOMEN IN FILM AND PHOTOGRAPHY 2025
DESCRIPTION: \nWomen photographers\, filmmakers\, and visual artists who use film or photography are invited to submit work for Objectifs’ 8th Women in Film & Photography Showcase in 2025. Selected work will be part of the print exhibition\, slideshow/video installation\, artist talks or screenings at Objectifs (Singapore) from Oct to Nov 2025. \nThe Women in Film & Photography Showcase at Objectifs is a tribute to the artists\, photographers\, and filmmakers who have created works that tell stories with impact\, break boundaries\, and inspire us. The Showcase focus is on work from Southeast Asia\, East Asia and South Asia.  \nOur theme for this edition is WHAT WE CARRY. \nWhat are some things we carry with us throughout our lives? When is the act of carrying a marker of hope\, resilience\, resistance\, or choice\, and when is it not? How do we decide when to keep holding on\, and when it is time to let go? How do the things we carry inform our identities\, our journeys\, and our connections to the world around us? After all\, we carry to be able to carry on\, carry over\, and carry towards. \nThese questions invite reflection on the diverse and personal ways in which our histories\, environments\, and experiences shape what we carry. We invite projects that interrogate the theme\, and how these elements interact with our sense of self and community. We also welcome submissions that consider the theme expansively\, and broaden our scope for dialogue. \nThrough your work\, we aim to engage with the many layers of individual and collective experiences\, inviting new perspectives on the things we hold close\, and the stories we choose to carry forward. \nAPPLY NOW! \nWHAT ARE WE LOOKING FOR?  \n\nPhoto essays or photo-based work of any genre\, based on the theme of What We Carry. Completed series or ongoing projects are both acceptable and can be from any year of production. Selected work may be presented in a group print exhibition or slideshow presentation. OR\nShort films or video art (below 30min) of any genre\, based on the theme of What We Carry. Works should be 30 min and below in duration and available for screening in a digital file format\, and can be from any year of production. Selected work may be presented in a group screening or video installation.\n\n\nOur focus is on work from Southeast Asia\, East Asia(China\, Mongolia\, North Korea\, South Korea\, Japan\, Hong Kong\, Taiwan and Macau) and South Asia(Bangladesh\, India\, Sri Lanka\, Pakistan\, Bhutan\, Nepal\, and Maldives). We welcome applicants who are from these countries to submit their work for consideration. Applicants who are not currently residing in their native countries may also submit their work for consideration.\nWe welcome work from artists who identify as female\, and non-binary individuals.\nSelection of works will be made by Objectifs\, and will be based on how the work relates to the theme\, as well as how it resonates with other projects that are chosen. We will also consider the feasibility of presenting the work in our galleries. Selected work will be part of the print exhibition\, slideshow installation\, artist talks\, or screenings at Objectifs.\n\nKEY SUBMISSION REQUIREMENTS \n\nA summary of the project (up to 250 words).\nArtist bio (up to 180 words).\ni) FOR PHOTO ESSAYS/PHOTO BASED WORKS: URL to an online gallery (e.g. Facebook album\, Photoshelter\, Googledrive\, or a dedicated page on your website etc) and not download links (e.g. wetransfer)\nii) FOR SHORT FILMS/VIDEO ART: Please provide the URL to preview the work (e.g. YouTube\, Vimeo or other video viewing platforms)\, and not download links (e.g. wetransfer). Please include the passwords for any private views.\n\nSUBMISSION TERMS & CONDITIONS  \n\nThere is no entry fee. If the applicant’s work is selected\, Objectifs will undertake the printing and exhibition production costs.\nApplicants may submit more than one project for consideration\, but must submit each project as a separate application.\nApplications must be submitted electronically by 28 Mar 2025 (1159PM SGT). Incomplete or physical submissions will not be accepted. We will not accept any late applications after the deadline.\nObjectifs’ selection decision is final. We regret that we are unable to provide feedback for applicants who are not selected for the showcase.\nBy submitting an entry\, an applicant warrants and represents that any intellectual property are original to them\, and that they have the rights granted for the work\, that here have been no prior transfer of the rights to the images and that the publication of the images will not infringe upon any other person’s copyright or other rights. The applicant agrees to indemnify and hold Objectifs harmless from any liability\, loss cost and expense (including legal fees) arising from any breach of the foregoing warrants\, due to or arising out of the applicant’s submission materials.\n\n

SUMMARY:SEAMEO SEPS Research Grants
DESCRIPTION:The SEAMEO SEPS Research Grants is launched to encourage academic and community-based researchers from Southeast Asia to undertake research on Sufficiency Economy Philosophy (SEP) and related themes. These grants aim to generate a wealth of knowledge on SEP\, expand its application beyond Thailand\, and contribute to community development\, ultimately improving the quality of life in the region. \nGeneral Theme: SEP and Sustainability \nThe focus of the SEAMEO SEPS Research Grants FY 2024/2025–FY 2025/2026 is to encourage research work that looks into the application of SEP in addressing sustainable development challenges across Southeast Asia. Research should explore how SEP can serve as a foundational context\, a baseline for comparative studies\, or a practical tool for linking various sectors\, such as education\, environment\, culture\, technology\, and economic resilience\, to sustainable development goals. \nIt is essential that SEP is included in the research either as the central theme or integrated into the study through its application to real-world problems. Whether focusing on theory\, practice\, or both\, proposals should demonstrate how SEP principles contribute to sustainability and align with regional development objectives\, such as the UN 2030 Agenda for Sustainable Development. \nResearch Areas \n\nHow SEP supports long-term sustainability practices across different sectors.\nSEP’s contributions to promoting Sustainable Living at the community or national level\, fostering economic resilience and thriving within their environmental limits.\nAligning SEP with the achievement of the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) in Southeast Asia.\nExploring other Values and Frameworks similar to SEP that enhanceequitable development.\nHow SEP fosters Intercultural Understanding and Related issues inthe context of sustainability.\n\nExpected Outcomes and Outputs \nThe following are the anticipated benefits of the research funded by the SEAMEO SEPS Research Grants. These outcomes need to be outlined in the grant proposal to demonstrate the potential impact of the research and to justify the need for funding. \n\nKnowledge base on Sufficiency Economy Philosophy and related themes is increased\, and is made accessible to stakeholders\nOpportunities to promote Sufficiency Economy Philosophy outside Thailand is expanded\nResearch collaborators and advocates on Sufficiency Economy Philosophy are identified and networked.\n\nThe following are examples of outputs that would be beneficial both for academic development and practical applications. \n\nJournal articles\, research papers\, and manuscripts summarising the key findings about the Sufficiency Economy Philosophy\, its relevance\, and its application in various contexts.\nOnline platforms\, repositories\, or databases where stakeholders (e.g.\, policymakers\, educators\, practitioners) can access research on Sufficiency Economy Philosophy.\nEducational modules and online courses designed to increase awareness and understanding of Sufficiency Economy Philosophy for a broad audience.\nPolicy recommendations on the adoption or adaptation of Sufficiency Economy Philosophy in local\, national\, or global contexts\, particularly in sustainable development and governance.\nEstablishment of partnerships with international or regional universities\, research institutions\, and organizations that can help promote Sufficiency Economy Philosophy in various countries.\nInternational conferences\, webinars\, or symposiums where Sufficiency Economy Philosophy can be presented\, discussed\, and promoted among global or regional stakeholders.\nProjects and studies comparing the application of Sufficiency Economy Philosophy in different cultural and economic contexts to assess its potential scalability.\nDocuments that explore the potential of Sufficiency Economy Philosophy as a global framework for sustainable development and economic resilience in various international settings.\nResearch networks or consortia of academics\, NGOs\, and government organisations working together on Sufficiency Economy Philosophy-related topics.\nInitiatives to spread the word about Sufficiency Economy Philosophy\, including advocacy materials\, social media campaigns\, and events that engage global or regional audiences and raise awareness about its importance and practical applications.\n\nThese outputs would be helpful in disseminating knowledge of Sufficiency Economy Philosophy\, fostering international or regional collaboration\, and creating real-world impacts from the research into sustainable development practices.
