A Ticket for Emerging Scholars and Researchers in Southeast Asia!

SHAPE-SEA, in partnership with Southeast Asian Human Rights and Peace Studies Network (SEAHRN),  Faculty of Arts and Social Sciences, University of Malaya (UM) under Research Group on Revising the Politics of Human Rights in Southeast Asia (GPF0035-2020), and the Faculty of Law, Universitas Indonesia (UI), invites early level academics, researchers and scholars to be part of this Training and Mentorship programme.

This aims to (1) help reinforce data gathering, writing and analytical skills and (2) to strengthen research confidence, as well as capacity to perform research on human rights and peace related issues in Southeast Asia.

This workshop shall be organized into two components:

  • First component features five public seminars (27 May 2021 and 3 June 2021) covering the following topics:
    • Peace Research
    • Socio-Legal Analysis
    • Feminist Analysis
    • Socio-Political Analysis
    • Academic writing strategies
  • Second component is a mentoring program from 24 May 2021 to 8 June 2021. The program, which is limited to only 20 selected participant, aims to tap into the existing knowledge, skills, and experience of mentors and transfer these skills to the emerging scholars in Southeast Asia in order to advance their careers.
