2021 APSA Emerging Scholars Workshop

29 September, 2021

The APSA Democracy and Autocracy section will run its fourth annual Emerging Scholars Research Development Workshop on Wednesday, September 29, 2021 as an online short course at this year’s APSA Annual Meeting.

The Emerging Scholars Research Development Workshop is an opportunity for early-career scholars from middle-and lower-income countries to advance current research toward publication, participate in the APSA Annual Meeting, and develop scholarly networks with colleagues. At the workshop, scholars will receive in-depth, targeted feedback on a research project and participate in a forum on pathways toward publishing. “Emerging Scholars” include advanced graduate students, post-docs, and pre-tenure faculty based at universities or research institutes in lower- to middle-income countries.

The Emerging Scholars Workshop will be held online as a virtual event in order to best accommodate global scholars during the Covid pandemic. It will be immediately followed by the 2021 APSA Annual Meeting held in-person in Seattle, WA. There is no in-person requirement for the Emerging Scholars Workshop; however, participants in the workshop who prefer to attend the following APSA annual conference in person will be eligible for an APSA Travel Grant.

Those who fit these criteria should apply here and email their CV and research manuscript to Comp.Dem.Emerging.Scholar@gmail.com by Monday, March 15, 2021 at 5:00PM (EDT).
