ตามนิยามของยูเนสโก เสรีภาพทางศิลปะ (Artistic Freedom) รวมถึงสิทธิในการสร้างสรรค์โดยไม่มีการเซ็นเซอร์หรือการข่มขู่  สิทธิในการได้รับการสนับสนุนแจกจ่ายและให้ผลตอบแทนทางศิลปะ สิทธิในเสรีภาพในการรวมกลุ่ม สิทธิในการคุ้มครองสิทธิทางสังคมและเศรษฐกิจ เป็นต้น ศิลปินและผู้ประกอบอาชีพด้านวัฒนธรรมและความสร้างสรรค์ในไทยและทั่วโลกมักเสี่ยงต่อการถูกละเมิดเสรีภาพดังกล่าว มีแรงงานจำนวนมากที่ไม่ได้รับค่าตอบแทนอันเป็นธรรมและขาดอำนาจในการเจรจา ผู้ประกอบอาชีพอิสระหรือฟรีแลนซ์ในอุตสาหกรรมสร้างสรรค์ยังไม่ได้รับการคุ้มครองทางสังคมหรือสวัสดิการประกันสังคม ในขณะเดียวกัน ศิลปินในไทยจำนวนไม่น้อยถูกฟ้องร้องและจับกุมในช่วงเวลาไม่กี่ปีที่ผ่านมา การละเมิดยังคงเกิดขึ้นอย่างต่อเนื่อง ตั้งแต่การเซ็นเซอร์จนถึงการข่มขู่ทางวาจาและการคุกคามทางกายภาพ แสดงให้เห็นถึงการใช้กฎหมายและแรงกดดันทางสังคม เพื่อสร้างความหวาดกลัวในการแสดงออกทางศิลปะ นอกจากนี้ศิลปินหญิงมักเผชิญความไม่เท่าเทียมทางเพศ ไม่ว่าจะเป็นค่าตอบแทนและโอกาสในการทำงานที่น้อยกว่า หรืออคติทางเพศในทุกระดับของอุตสาหกรรม ท่ามกลางสถานการณ์การละเมิดก็มีความพยายามของหลากหลายภาคส่วนในการปกป้องคุ้มครองสิทธิเสรีภาพทางศิลปะ เมื่อไม่นานมานี้ในไทยได้มีการจัดตั้งสหภาพแรงงานสร้างสรรค์ ในฐานะพื้นที่สำหรับการรวมกลุ่มของแรงงานสื่อ ศิลปะ วัฒนธรรม และงานสร้างสรรค์ เพื่อคุณภาพชีวิตและการทำงานที่ดีขึ้น องค์กรระหว่างประเทศและภาคประชาสังคมก็มีการวิจัย ให้ความช่วยเหลือด้านกฎหมาย เฝ้าติดตามสถานการณ์และรณรงค์อย่างต่อเนื่อง นอกจากนี้ การให้ความรู้และแลกเปลี่ยนก็เป็นอีกวิธีหนึ่งที่จะทำให้ศิลปินและแรงงานสร้างสรรค์ได้ตระหนักรู้ถึงสิทธิของตนเองมากยิ่งขึ้น การรับรู้และเข้าใจถึงสิทธิเสรีภาพที่เราพึงมีจะเป็นพื้นฐานในการรวมกลุ่มและเรียกร้องปกป้องเสรีภาพทางศิลปะ ด้วยเหตุนี้ ตัวแทนในแต่ละประเทศของ Mekong Cultural Hub (MCH) จึงได้ริเริ่มโครงการอบรมให้ความรู้นี้ขึ้น โดยได้จัดกิจกรรมแลกเปลี่ยนในประเทศกัมพูชาและลาวเมื่อเดือนตุลาคมที่ผ่านมา สำหรับกิจกรรมในไทยจะจัดขึ้นในวันเสาร์ที่ 12 พฤศจิกายน 2565 เวลา 13.00-16.00 น. ณ ห้อง SEA Junction ชั้น 4 หอศิลปกรุงเทพฯ   วิทยากร คุณอานนท์ ชวาลาวัณย์ เจ้าหน้าที่โครงการอินเทอร์เน็ตเพื่อกฎหมายประชาชน (iLaw) ผศ.ดร.ภาสกร อินทุมาร สาขาวิชาการละคอน คณะศิลปกรรมศาสตร์ มหาวิทยาลัยธรรมศาสตร์ คุณเกศนคร พจนวรพงษ์ และคุณไชยวัฒน์ วรรณโคตร ผู้ก่อตั้งสหภาพแรงงานสร้างสรรค์ *เข้าร่วมฟรี ไม่มีค่าใช้จ่าย / ที่นั่งจำกัด กรุณาลงทะเบียนที่ https://bit.ly/ArtisticFreedom-12NOV.   จัดโดย…
