การระบาดของโควิด 19 ในเอเชียตะวันออกเฉียงใต้ เช่นเดียวกับที่เกิดขึ้นในทุกภูมิภาคทั่วโลก ได้เผยให้เห็นความเกี่ยวเนื่องกันระหว่างกระบวนการทางชีววิทยา เศรษฐกิจและสังคม อีกทั้งยังแสดงให้เห็นถึงนัยยะเรื่องความเหลื่อมล้ำด้านเศรษฐกิจ สังคมและสุขภาพ รวมไปถึงมิติทางการเมืองในเรื่องของสุขภาพและการสาธารณสุข เป็นที่แน่ชัดอยู่แล้วว่าโรคระบาดโควิดในครั้งนี้เกิดจากเชื้อไวรัส แต่เพื่อที่จะเข้าใจ ควบคุม และลดผลกระทบของการระบาด เราต้องพึ่งพาองค์ความรู้ทางด้านสังคมศาสตร์และการใช้องค์ความรู้ดังกล่าวในการแก้ไขปัญหา ซึ่งทำให้เกิดคำถามที่ว่า องค์ความรู้และนักวิชาการด้านสังคมศาสตร์ได้มีส่วนร่วมในการแก้ไขปัญหาหลากมิติอันเป็นผลมาจากวิกฤติโควิด 19 ในภูมิภาคนี้มากน้อยเพียงใด? เพื่อที่จะสะท้อนถึงคำถามนี้ SEA Junction ร่วมกับ Asia Research Center at the University of Indonesia (ARC-UI) และ Global Development Network (GDN) จะจัดเวทีเสวนาผ่านช่องทางออนไลน์ สองเวที โดยเวทีแรกจะจัดขึ้นในวันศุกร์ที่ 19 พฤศจิกายน 2564 เวลา 17:00-18:30 น. ดำเนินรายการเป็นภาษาไทย และจะมุ่งเน้นที่ประสบการณ์การรับมือกับปัญหาโรคระบาดโควิดในประเทศไทย เวทีที่สองจะจัดขึ้นในวันพุธที่ 24 พฤศจิกายน 2564 เวลา 16:00-17:30 น. ดำเนินรายการเป็นภาษาอังกฤษ จะมุ่งเน้นบทสนทนาเกี่ยวกับการรับมือโรคระบาดโควิดในระดับภูมิภาค ทั้งสองเวทีเสวนานี้เป็นส่วนหนึ่งของโครงการวิจัยที่ร่วมจัดโดย ARC – UI และ GDN ได้รับการสนับสนุนจาก International Development Research Centre (IDRC) ประเทศแคนาดา และ SEA Junction ได้มีโอกาสเป็นส่วนหนึ่งของโครงการนี้ จุดประสงค์ของโครงการคือการศึกษาบทบาทของสังคมศาสตร์ ในการรับมือปัญหาสถานการณ์โควิด 19 ใน 11 ประเทศในภูมิภาคเอเชียตะวันออกเฉียงใต้และเอเชียใต้ โดยมุ่งศึกษาการมีส่วนร่วมอย่างเป็นทางการขององค์ความรู้และนักวิชาการทางสังคมศาสตร์ในระบบการจัดการรับมือปัญหาโควิด…
