Public Discussion on the Outcomes of Labor Migration in South-East Asia
In 2017 ILO and IOM conducted a study to obtain a better understanding of the factors that shape migration outcomes in Southeast Asia. The study interviewed over 1800 returnee migrant workers from Cambodia, Viet Nam, Lao PDR and Myanmar who had been employed in Thailand or Malaysia. Workshop East Javanese Batik
Batik is a well-known traditional fabric of Indonesia that employs a technique of applying wax-resist dyeing to the cloth either by drawing dots and lines with a spouted tool (canting), or by printing various motives with a copper stamp (cap). The wax-resist prevents dyes to penetrate, so that only the parts without wax will be colored.
