Film Culture Exchange Projects by JFAC and TIFF
29 December, 2019 - 31 December, 2019
Through the joint initiative Film Culture Exchange Projects by the Japan Foundation Asia Center (JFAC) and the Tokyo International Film Festival (TIFF), we have been expanding our scope of cultural exchange into the field of films and moving images. Through this initiative which we will carry out into 2020, the year of the Tokyo Olympic and Paralympic Games, we will continue to encourage exchange and collaboration projects on various levels and discover hidden talents in film throughout the Southeast Asian region.
The Tokyo International Film Festival (TIFF)
The Tokyo International Film Festival (TIFF) is the only film festival in Japan that is accredited by the International Federation of Film Producers Associations (FIAPF). Established in 1985, it has continued to discover outstanding films from around the world and bring them to Tokyo, Japan. It also serves as an occasion for filmmakers, distributors, and fans to come together once a year to celebrate the many wonders film can bring to our lives.
The International Federation of Film Producers Associations (FIAPF) is an international organization that manages issues related to the film industry and international film festivals. Its headquarters is located in Paris, France, and a total of thirty-eight member associations from thirty-one countries on five continents (as of October 31, 2017).
This project in FY2017, FY2018 and FY2019 is certified as beyond 2020 program.
