Dear Partners and Friends of SEA Junction,

This month, SEA Junction highlights the role and lives of refugees and migrants through our upcoming events. The first is a documentary that gives a glimpse into the lives of the Rohingya community during the Islamic holy month of Ramadan in one of the world’s largest refugee camps.

Next, we are proud to launch the report on structural precariousness. Based on a year-long research, for which I was responsible. This work presents a comprehensive view of the living and working conditions of migrants in the construction sector in the Bangkok Metropolitan areas, particularly as it relates to recruitment and subcontracting.

The #WhatshappeninginMyanmar Update and the Monthly Mini Book Fair will continue to enrich our program as usual.

We hope you find our programs of interest. We count on your participation and help in sharing this information with your network and hope in your support (see below). SEA Junction relies on community members like you to be able to maintain our venue and continue our work at a time when civic spaces and resources for civil society are curtailed all over the world.

We also take this occasion to wish our friends from Thailand, Laos, Cambodia and Myanmar a Happy New Year. Let’s enjoy Songkran, Pi Mai, Chul Chnam Thmey and Thingyan!

Warmly,
Lia Sciortino Sumaryono
