Academic Research Training on Human Rights and Peace for Scholars in Timor Leste

Objectives
- To enhance capacities of graduate students, scholars from universities based in Timor Leste to produce quality research on human rights and/or peace in Southeast Asia/ASEAN;
- To gain better understanding of the situation of human rights and/or peace in Timor Leste and in the region; and
- To raise awareness of the significance of academic research to the promotion and protection of human rights and building of peace in Timor Leste.
Qualifications
- The training seeks to admit a limited number of participants from Timor Leste (25-30 pax). Participants may come as an individual researcher or part of a research team
- Participants (academics, graduate students, researchers) who are interested to research on human rights and/or peace in Timor Leste.
- Participants should be affiliated with a university based in Timor Leste. Members of civil society may attend as long as they’re part of a research team affiliated with a university.
- Applicants should submit a concept note in English on a human rights and/or peace they are interested to research on.
- Participants will receive a certificate upon the full completion of the training programme.
