Courses: The 20th Angkor Photo Workshop

August 12

Date: 7 – 16 February 2025

We are pleased to announce we will soon open for applications for the next Angkor Photo Workshops.

The 20th edition of our annual tuition-free workshop will be held from 7 – 16 February 2025 in Siem Reap, Cambodia. We invite photographers of all Asian nationalities aged 21 and above to apply. A group of 20 participants will be selected by our tutors.

The 20th Angkor Photo Workshop will be led by 6 tutors and alumni facilitators, who will guide the participants in creating a body of work during their time here in Siem Reap. The projects will be shared with the public as part of the festival’s programme.

As always, we welcome all methods and approaches to the medium of photography. There are no restrictions on the type of projects that participants can undertake during the workshops.

As we reflect on how the photography landscape has evolved since we began two decades ago, we believe it is important to foster photographic practices which deepen our relationship not only with ourselves, but also with the people around us and the world we live in.

It is important that participants are ready to fully immerse themselves in Siem Reap and the experience of the workshops, and to be prepared to create work which comes from discovering and creating direct connections with the place and people.

Application is free. Read our eligibility requirements and apply via our online form below.

Please note the application form and the workshops are in English.

Deadline: 12 August 2024 (Monday, Midnight, +7GMT)

ABOUT THE ANGKOR PHOTO WORKSHOPS

Launched in 2005, the annual Angkor Photo Workshops in Siem Reap, Cambodia, is an intensive photography workshop for emerging Asian practitioners. It aims to provide an affordable, high quality learning experience while guiding each participant in developing their own distinctive artistic vision and voice.

We encourage participants to intensely examine their existing approach to their practice, their personal motivations and sense of identities, and how their work can engage with the realities that confront them.

We are firmly non-commercial, and open to all explorations and experimentations in the medium of photography.
