Exhibition “Arar Rosom, Arar Elom: World Tour of Rohingya Cultural Memory Centre”

The International Organization for Migration (IOM) and the Rohingya Culture and Memory Centre (RCMC) in partnership with SEA Junction are pleased to present, as part of the RCMC World Tour, the exhibition “Arar Rosom, Arar Elom: World Tour of Rohingya Cultural Memory Centre” on 17-25 February from 11 am to 7 pm. The exhibition aims to raise awareness and advocate for the Rohingya cause emphasizing their unique cultural heritage and their resilience in the face of continued displacement.
A curated collection of Rohingya artwork, crafts, and cultural artifacts will be displayed at the SEA Junction venue, 4th floor Bangkok Arts and Culture Center (BACC) to provide a tangible and emotional connection to the story of the Rohingya. It will also facilitate the dialogue to the heart of the refugee problem.
The Opening Ceremony will be on 20 February at 5.30 PM and consists of two parts. First, a Panel Discussion will be held in the Meeting Room 401, 4th floor of BACC, on the complexities of the Rohingya crisis, featuring experts, activists, and community representatives (live-stream will also be available) and second, the tour of the exhibition at the SEA Junction venue on the same floor.
Arar Rosom, Arar Elom is not just an exhibition; it is a collective effort to amplify the voices of a marginalized community and to provide an opportunity to bridge gaps, advocate for change, and create a lasting impact. Together, let us give voice to the unheard.

The Rohingya Cultural Memory Centre (RCMC) operates under the Mental Health and Psychosocial Support (MHPSS) portfolio of the International Organization for Migration (IOM), focusing on documenting and preserving Rohingya cultural heritage for psychosocial well-being. The center, designed collaboratively, opened in March 2022, hosting various events and building a repository of over 1000 artworks and artifacts. RCMC aims to provide a safe space for the Rohingya community to share, preserve, and reconnect with their cultural memories, promoting psychosocial well-being and positive identity.
