Launch of ASEAN Queer Imaginings Volume 2

On 27 April 2024, 6-7 pm, ASEAN SOGIE CAUCUS, in collaboration with Non-Binary Thailand and SEA Junction, will hold the “Launch of ASEAN Queer Imaginings Volume 2” at SEA Junction, 4th floor, BACC
ASEAN Queer Imaginings Volume 2 is the collection of thought leadership articles, artwork and poems from queer activists from across Southeast Asia. Together with ASEAN SOGIE CAUCUS and Non-Binary Thailand, the book explores LGBTQIAN+ issues and the practices of advocacy and promises to contribute to meaningful discussions in our community.
Together, the launch of the book will feature a panel discussion with a contributor and reviewer of the book & Drag King Performance at the end. The event will be joined by a number of human rights activists across Southeast Asia working for the inclusion of SOGIESC into the human rights work in ASEAN and to amplify the voices of the marginalized LGBTQIAN+ communities in Southeast Asia. Please note that this event will be conducted in Thai with Simultaneous interpretation in English on site.

ASEAN SOGIE Caucus
The ASEAN SOGIE Caucus (ASC) is a network of human rights activists from Southeast Asia. The ASC works for the inclusion of Sexual Orientation, Gender Identity, Gender Expression, and Sex Characteristics (SOGIESC) in the mandate of human rights duty bearers in the ASEAN region. The ASC works for the promotion and protection of the human rights of all persons regardless of SOGIESC in the Southeast Asian region. ASC is legally registered as a non-stock and non-profit organization in the Philippines under the name Southeast Asia Sexual Orientation, Gender Identity and Expression Caucus (ASC), Inc.

SEA Junction
established under the Thai non-profit organisation Foundation for Southeast Asia Studies (ForSEA), aims to foster understanding and appreciation of Southeast Asia in all its socio-cultural dimensions, from arts and lifestyles to economy and development.
