Public Lecture “Post-Traumatic Art Disorder: Aesthetics and Activism in Singapore”

In this public lecture on 10 February 2017 at 4.30-6.30 PM Singaporean visual artist Seelan Palay speaks on his process as an artist and activist responding to the socio-political context of Singapore and the concerns and complex conditions found in our present-day, globalized society. He aims to elaborate on what it means to practice art and the freedom of expression despite multiple structures of power and control.
The presentation includes images and videos of past works, as well as an exhibition of brand new works. The works will be exhibited for a week until 17 February and will be on offer for donations to SEA Junction.
Seelan Palay (b. 1984) has studied Fine Art at Lasalle College of the Arts in Singapore and works with mixed media, installation, performance, film and sound. See further http://seelanpalay.com/
