Images of Rice Plantation Cycles by Giuseppe Di Mauro
Brief Description
These photos portray the changes of rice terraces in the Greater Mekong Sub-region from soil preparation to harvest drying, highlighting the types of land destined for paddies, both flat and mountainous. In particular, they showcase six moments in the natural cycle of rice, namely when the rice fields are flooded for preparation, moments of sowing, the green paddies phase of growing plantation, the yellow paddies phase of rice maturation, the harvest moments and finally the drying methods. The photos were taken between 2010 and 2017 with Nikon D90/ DX7200. Some of the photos shown here and more will be exhibited in the exhibition “Rice Terraces of the Greater Mekong Sub-region” on 3-15 December, from 11 AM to 7 PM in the Corner Space of BACC.
