Biography:
Born in Yogyakarta, Indonesia, on September 19th, 1989. Priyo Wicaksono developed a passion for drawing, reading, and history, particularly World War II, from a young age. In 2007, he enrolled in the Indonesia Institute of The Arts Yogyakarta, pursuing a degree in Visual Communication Design, which he completed in 2013. For his final project, he created a comic about World War II in the Pacific (1941-1945). He has achieved significant recognition in national comic competitions, winning the Favorite Award at MANGAFEST in 2012 for a piece on Indonesian tourism and securing First Place in 2014 with a theme titled “Indonesia in Action”. Currently, he works as a Marketing Graphic Designer at a national publishing house in Yogyakarta and is developing new comic projects focused on the early European front of World War II (1939-1940) and the Gulf War (1991).
