Dear Partners and Friends of SEA Junction,

October was a month of mixed activities, including workshops on making Balinese rice-dough offerings and classes to graduate students of AIT and Mahidol University, crowned by the fascinating public talk of art historian Chedha Tigsanchali on Buddhist art in Myanmar.

This month will be dominated by the series “ASEAN People in Flux”, which SEA Junction organizes in collaboration with the Heinrich Boell Stiftung Southeast Asia with a panel on student mobility in ASEAN and a month-long exhibition of art installation and digital poetry by Varsha Nair, Rebecca Warren and refugees children and their parents living in Bangkok.

I also wish to signal a comprehensive review of our organization and activities in IIAS Newsletter, the main Asian studies magazine at the link https://iias.asia/the-newsletter/article/sea-junction-our-venue-connect-southeast-asia

I look forward to welcoming you and hope you can help us in disseminating this November agenda to your network. All events are free, but we welcome donations to enable us to continue our activities.

Best regards,
Lia Sciortino Sumaryono
Founder and Executive Director SEA Junction
