SEA Junction venue at BACC is meant as a reading room, where interested scholars, practitioners and students can meet and learn about Southeast Asia. The collection of more than 1500 items covers various development and culture fields related to the various Southeast Asian countries, and the regional areas of the Greater Mekong Sub-region, Southeast Asia and Asia as a whole. Mostly in English, some of the resources are in the Indonesian language and in the Thai language.
Visitors can select books they are interested in and read at their leisure at our venue. The collection is also available on line as e-library on this website.
In addition, through our partnership with well-known local publishers across Southeast Asia including Silkworm Books, Yayasan Obor Indonesia and the Institute of Southeast Asian Studies (ISEAS), we have on offer new books on a variety of issues on Southeast Asia.
Once a month, SEA Junction holds a Mini Book and Craft Fair focusing on Southeast Asia for fund-raising purposes to support our organization and activities. Besides craft objects, we display three kinds of books:
- New books given in consignment from recognized publishers with an interest in the countries of Southeast Asia as per above.
- New and used books that are double to those of SEA Junction’s Library. They include books in Thai, English and Indonesian on various issues related to Southeast Asia and the Greater Mekong Sub-region (GMS)
- Few literature and development-related works from outside the region that have been donated to SEA Junction for the purpose of the fair.
