Call for Participants: ASEAN Youth Environmental Action 2024

Environmental degradation including climate change and global warming, is a daunting issue that needs a swift response and concerted efforts by the international community. Global warming is worsening due to rising temperatures and greenhouse gas emissions. The urgent mitigation efforts are crucial.
At the ASEAN regional level, the issue of environmental degradation has become a major concern. The ASEAN Secretariat publication states that ASEAN is “home” to 20 percent of the world’s species and is the center of the world’s marine biodiversity. Now, ASEAN is also facing the challenge of environmental degradation.
The action needed now is no longer just anticipation, but mitigation. These impacts do not recognize national borders, thus requiring cross-border cooperation to manage them.
To optimize the mitigation of environmental damage that has already occurred synergy from all generations is needed. The youth in the millennial generation and generation Z are the most important part of this effort. Therefore, collaboration between young generations is very important to build commitment and real action to save the environment.
You are invited in mitigating the Climate Change, on the ASEAN YOUTH ENVIRONMENTAL ACTION 2024 with the main theme “HEAT UP THE PLANS, COOL DOWN THE EARTH” organized by International Relation Students Association of Universitas Budi Luhur (HIMAHI), as a true collaborative effort upon the Climate Change issue.
Participants expect to follow several activities namely;
- Environmental Dialogue
- FGDs that will be discussing prepared essay made by participants under
climate change topics
- Plenary session, presenting the result of recommendations
- Real action of Tree Planting
With the following schedules;
Time and date : 26-29th of June, 2024
(29th activities is optional)
Location of Venue : Universitas Budi Luhur
Youths will be actively discussed in FGD on the essay that was made beforehand, that is expected to result in a recommendation or resolution to issue raised on the essay. and later will present in the Plenary Meeting, and have a question and answer session in the Plenary.
HIMAHI Budi Luhur will provide facilities for participants namely, Accommodation which is a hotel for lodging along the event, we dont provide the tickets for transportation from the the participants stay to Jakarta, however we would provide transportation to take the participants from the Airport or Station to the Hotel.
We serves meals from breakfast to dinner along the event. Participants will be given certificates of appreciation and will also be awarded for the best essay on each topic. Participant registration can be done through https://forms.gle/3sXyh1fo2oAnRv4W6
