In Search Of Hope-Full Futures: Fresh Climate Imaginations Through Games, Fiction & Dialogue

SEA Junction will be participating in this year Bangkok Climate Action Week (BKKCAW), a city-wide initiative inspired by the London Climate Action Week. BKKCAW brings together public programs, the arts, exhibitions, policy labs, and community-led experiments to foster whole-of-society engagement that is bold, hopeful, and transformative.
In this interactive presentation and workshop, participants will be invited on an imaginative journey that challenges dominant techno-apocalyptic climate narratives and opens space for alternative visions of Asia’s future. Through cross-disciplinary dialogue and creative engagement, the event seeks to inspire reflection, foster new perspectives, and spark hope in the face of climate change.
The program consists of two parts: a panel on Fiction, Imagination & Climate Agency, which explores how speculative storytelling can inspire fresh perspectives on climate futures, and a game-based workshop, Climate Dreams & Dynamic Disruptions. Using the future-thinking board game Dreams and Disruptions, participants will co-create alternative scenarios for Asia’s islands and oceans shaped by climate and socio-technological drivers.
