We are thrilled to reveal the results of the Visual Essay Competition, “Which Road for Southeast Asia?” organized by SEA Junction in collaboration with the John Fitzgerald Kennedy (JFK) Foundation of Thailand, commemorating the 56th Anniversary of ASEAN Establishment.
In the visual essay category, submissions were received from Indonesia, Malaysia, Myanmar, the Philippines, and Thailand. Following a thorough review, we are delighted to announce the prize winners as listed below. Please note that there are two first prizes, and as a result, there is no second prize. Both first prize winners will receive a USD 750 cash prize, and the third prize is USD 250. All winning entries will be published on our special initiative page on the website.
In addition to the promised three prizes, we have decided to award Honorable Mentions to four visual essays. While these entries may not fully align with the overall theme or sufficiently address the competition theme, they convey compelling stories that, even if local, are relevant for the future of the region. Honorable Mentions will receive a USD 50 cash prize and will be published on our website under the “Glimpses of Southeast Asia” section.
Stay tuned for the publication and check out the list below for the winners and other prize recipients. The announcement for the written essay awards will follow at a later date and we apologize for the delay due to the overwhelming number of submissions.
