SEA Junction in collaboration with the Center for Contemporary Social and Cultural Studies at Thammasat University presented a book launch event of Active Lives: Stories of Three Women in Asia (Vidas Ativas: Histórias de Três Mulheres na Ásia). This publication by Ana Gretel Echazú Böschemeier seeked to bridge geographically distant social movements in Asia and Latin America, highlighting that the common grounds and diversity of their struggles.

The content encompassed life narratives focused on activism, gender issues, and spirituality in the Global South. It draws from intellectual exchanges with three Asian women: Dhammananda Bhikkhuni, Amporn Mardden and Monira Ashan. This book included translations of interviews and essays written by the three featured women. Additionally, it compiled notes and reflections that explore the issues raised by them.

The launch event to be held in English at SEA Junction on the 9 February 2025, 1 pm – 4 pm, featured a book discussion, Q&A session and an informal discussion and book signing by the authors, editors, and translators. The discussion panel was moderated by Jarunee Kongsawa of the Siam Society and comprises the following discussants;
